These coffee cherries are meticulously sourced from the Bakonzo tribe, proud descendants who reside along the lush Rwenzori Mountains, spanning Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This tribe's rich heritage and strong identity inspired the name Bukonzo Dream. Their vibrant culture and Agri Evolve's shared vision of connecting these unique coffees to the world play a pivotal role in every batch produced.
At the heart of Bukonzo Dream lies a story of trust, tradition, and transformative relationships. Initially facing skepticism, Agri Evolve embarked on a mission to forge strong bonds with farmers and cooperatives in the Rwenzoris. Their dedication to building trust and understanding with the community’s key decision-makers allowed them to gradually increase their access to freshly picked coffee cherries, rather than solely processed greens. This shift was critical, enabling them to control the quality from cherry to cup.
Processing takes place at Agri Evolve's washing station in Kisinga, where they handle each lot with precision, organising them by geographic regions and, frequently, specific day-lots. Their commitment extends to controlling the natural processing methods meticulously, ensuring quality through constant monitoring and refining of their techniques.
