Back in the city centre

Thomson's at 127 Candleriggs, the corner of the former Commercial Bank building

On Tuesday 15 September we opened our doors at 127 Candleriggs, on the corner of Ingram Street, and brought Thomson's back to the heart of Glasgow.

We started in this city in 1841. For more than 50 years, regulars knew our Renfield Street shop as "Coffee Thomson's", a place to pick up a favourite blend and catch up. 185 years on, it feels good to be back in the centre, doing what we've always done.

Candleriggs is made for a pause in the day. Stop by for an espresso on the way to work, or settle in with a coffee and a fresh pastry. Our team is always happy to talk you through what's on, whether you know exactly what you like or fancy trying something new.

For now we're serving coffee and pastries, with evening drinks to follow soon.

Carved stone dated 1597, rebuilt 1824 and placed in the building in 1939

Look up and you'll find a carved stone dated 1597, saved from the building that once stood here. It's a quiet reminder that this corner has a long story, and we're happy to add a chapter. The room was shaped with Collective Architecture and made by local hands: Made of Wooden Bones, Ritual Works, Bungo Sign Co., Solas Neon Sign Co. and Mirrl.

We look forward to seeing you.
