INFO
Jorge Fernando Naimeg administers three farms alongside his family in the Cerrado Meneiro region of Brazil in the northwest area of Minas Gerais State. The family farms cover 394 hectares, 190 of these being occupied by coffee plants. This particular natural Yellow Catuai is from the Londrina farm, and is a cross between the Caturra variety and the Mundo Novo variety, creating Yellow Catuai which is known for having high productivity potential.
The Cerrado Mineiro region is a world-recognised high quality producing area, and became the first Protected Geographical Indication in Brazil in 2005, with full Designation of Origin in 2013. A strong characteristic of this region is its well defined seasons — a hot, wet supper followed by a pleasantly dry winter. The dry climate during harvest eliminates potential problems with humidity during the drying process.
